Born on 22 May 1976 in Shahoor Kalan, Gurdaspur, Bhai Sukhwant Singh Shahoor is a recognisable name in the world of Gurbani music. His father was a Nishkaam Sewadar in the local Gurudwara as Granthi and also a farmer. Bhai Sukhwant Singh Shahoor's introduction to Gurbani music started in 1991 when he began learning from his elder brother, Bhai Dalbir Singh Shahoor, who is a Hazoori Ragi Talwandi Sabo Sri Damdama Saheb.
