Shivpreet Singh is a California-based world beat composer and singer. A pioneer in fusion kirtan music, his music reflects a unique blend of Indian Classical music and US Pop, Folk and Country styles. Shivpreet was trained in Indian classical music from famous Indian shehnai and flue player, Pandit Raghunath Prasanna. He was a prodigy in music growing up and was honored by the former Indian President at age 15. He continued music education at UC Berkeley where he did a minor in Music while completing a Biochemistry degree. He trained under Pandit ji for approximately 10 years in Delhi. He also trained under Dr. Bhattacharya and Mr. Misra, at the music department at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram. In Shivpreet’s first classical performance in 1990, he shared the stage with Ustad Rashid Khan. He was awarded by former President Gyani Zail Singh for his inaugural flute recital. You can get all of Shivpreet Singh's music on iTunes. Shiv's first CD was launched in the US in 1997 by EMI making Shiv the first South Asian musician to land a major record deal.
