Bhai Gurjit Singh Ji (Hazuri Ragi)
Bhai Gurjit Singh Hazoori Ragi is a popular name in the Sikh community known for his mellifluous kirtan, katha, and shabad renditions. Born on 13 December 1990 in Amritsar, his family has a legacy in Gurbani music. Bhai Gurjit Singh's father, Sardar Darbara Singh, is a retired professor from GND Amritsar. The family has been deeply involved in Sikhism and influenced his interest in Gurbani music. He started his musical journey in childhood with Tabla and later trained in Classical Vocal and Instrumental music. Bhai Gurjit Singh learned from several prominent music gurus, including Ustad Joga Singh Ji Amritsar and Dr. Gurdev Singh of the Sikh Missionary College, SGPC, Budha Jor Gurdwara Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Dr. Gurdev Singh is a student of Dr. Gurnam Singh of Patiala Gharana. Bhai Gurjit Singh has completed his formal education in music and holds a degree in Sangeet Visharad from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Bhai Gurjit Singh Hazoori Ragi's music style is mainly classical vocal, and he specializes in Reet, a form of semi-classical music. He has no affiliation with any Jathebandi. In 2011, he started his professional career as a Gurbani singer as a Hazoori Raagi Darbar Saheb. Bhai Gurjit Singh Hazoori Ragi Darbar Saab Sri Amritsar is the name of his Jathha. He has performed kirtan in many countries, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Bhai Gurjit Singh Hazoori Ragi has no siblings or relatives in the music industry. His wife is a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Amritsar, and they have a daughter. Currently, Bhai Gurjit Singh Hazoori Ragi is on leave from his position as a Hazoori Raagi Darbar Saheb and is residing in California.
