Jatinder Singh Durhailay
Jatinder Singh Durhailay (AKA: Jatlee) has been a keen illustrator since a very young age. He grew up on watching Enter the Dragon and used to draw Bruce Lee everywhere on anything. Jatinder Singh has always been a talented individual, he has always been obsessed with people. The way they talk, walk, eat and make love. He finds himself drawn to the human nature. Durhailay is a quirky, weird and mischievous character. All these elements make up his work uniquely. Durhailay’s credibility as an artist is hardly in doubt as he can switch between different styles of work. From contemporary gothic art to traditional Japanese he is a force to be reckoned with. His influences are many, in actual fact too many to count. But Durhailay explains that “Everything I see is inspiration, no matter what I do I will never be able to perfect life, rather i must accept life”. Durhailay is trained in Indian Classical Music, performing and practicing Kirtan as well as playing among others, the rare Instrument that are the Dilruba and Taus. Bringing together his love for western and eastern culture he has created Avante Garde musical compositions. This young British Sikh will surely be one artist to note down in your favorites as his work is quite literally inspiring.
